Hitchin Town Belles U12 1 v 6 Luton Belles
Home Counties Girls Football League; U12 League Cup - Group D
Players: Bethany, Ruby, Christie, Amy, Carmen, Maddy, Siobohn, Yvette, Sophie, Casey, Abs, Bethan & Tamsin.
This was always gonna be tough, with a few key players missing, a cold day and league 1 opposition and so it was to prove.

With the wind behind us we had a good first half. Bethany in goal and Carman droping into the sweeper role. Bethan played alone up front with five in midfield supporting her. Chances were few and despite forcing a couple of corners and shots I felt unlucky to be one down at half time.

A few changes were made, the twins swapped over, Carmen pushed up and Christie came into goal. It was however the wind that along with an impressive Luton team made it difficult to escape from our own half. It became impossible to clear and Luton closed in and scored mainly from close range. Tamsin came off her sick bed and came into midfield where she provided Carmen with a much deserved goal. For a while there was more fight and spirit but Luton pushed on and finished the game stongly.

I am pleased with ALL of the players today. Everybody worked hard. Amy and Maddy get the player of the match for their outstanding effort. Back to league fixtures next week and hopefully winning ways.
