Hitchin Town Belles U12 3 v 2 Barnet Azzuri
Home Counties Girls Football League; U12 Division 2
Players: Christie, Maddy, Chloe, Ruby, Yvette, Siobhan, Tamsin, Carmen, Bethan, Bethany, Alex, Jasmin, Casey, Sophie.
A soggy victory for the Belles who played bravely in awful conditions against an under strength Barnet. 2 nil up at half time, with a great goal, crossed on the right wing by Beth and hit first time by Tamsin and then Jasmin got her second by lobbing the ball over the keeper from the edge of the box.
Carmen was denied a goal that was adjudged offside. Despite one or two chances Chloe kept the Barnet strikers away. As the rain got worse so did our performance in the second half. Barnet pulled one back and they enjoyed a spell of pressure. Carmen finaly got her goal in a scramble with Soph who had a really good game in the centre. Barnet got another late on but in the end the rain was the winner.
Player of the match: Player of the match went to Chloe who showed determination and skill in defence and set up many attacks.
