U10 Whites v Welwyn Pegasus
By Simon Gooderham
The Whites performed well against a skilful Welwyn side to show they’re continuing to put their training into match action.
The first half showed how far the Whites have come as they matched Welwyn in midfield, defended confidently and always looked a threat up front. It was great to see the team put together some of their best passing moves of the season, with neat combinations moving the ball right from keeper to striker.
The second half followed the similar competitive pattern, with balls being well contested all over the pitch. Chloe made some smart saves to cap another good stint in goal and the Whites kept pushing for the goal their lovely passing play deserved.
The Whites finally got their reward when Saffron broke down the left and showed great composure to pick a spot and score her second goal of the season.
The final goal tally didn’t reflect the balance of play in what was another competitive game, with the Whites’ performance again drawing compliments from opposition coaches who noted the improvements the team have made.
POTM: Amelie Smith, who built on her strong performance against Bedwell with another display of close control and positive running at the opposition.
