Garston Ladies Tigers v Hitchin Belles u12`s
The future is bright!
Hitchin Belles played the league champions Garston Tigers on Saturday. With players missing due to the Easter break the task was always going to be a hard one. The Belles are a vastly improved team lately and they made the Tigers work hard to get the win. In fact the Belles could have gone in at half time leading as they had two glorious chances to score, both chances coming from some incredible football. Unfortunately they were unable to convert their chances and when Garston got a penalty just before half time it seemed harsh. Amy Greives is an outstanding keeper though and she dived to her right and parried the ball away. HT 0-0
Garstons experience and class started to tell in the second half and they started to play some great football. Unfortunately the Belles couldn't live with them and they scored a hatfull of goals but coaches and spectators walked away happy, having seen a glimpse of the future. Some of the football these girls try to play is superb. The only thing missing is experience for most. In a season or two this bunch of girls are going to be a force to be reckoned with.
